This gun is a cannon!!!! It's long, too long for some and quite hefty too. It looks pretty realistic, though the grey receiver lets it down a bit. This is not a gun for use in buildings or thick woods etc. You need a little space to use this gun, but in this environment few AEGs can touch it. It's range and accuracy are very good, and the rate of fire will put a smile on your face.
The 500 round HiCap saves time and messing about in the field, the large battery goes in the stock and lasts all day, and the bipod is very useful both in combat and as a stand to keep it out of safe-zone mud. The fire selector can be easily operated but only caters for right handed users, and the sights are well made and useful too!! The grub screws keeping the flash-hider and outer barrel on come lose and the parts can be lost in the woods if the screws are not tightened regularly.
If you use squad tactics this is the ideal support weapon straight out of the box, or a TN barrel and scope will give you a long enough range to take on snipers or snipe yourself!! Personally, I use my SG as a field weapon, especially in defensive games where mobility is not an issue and it's range and accuracy can be put to good use. I'm over 6 foot tall, and the length of the SG suits me, but I can see how shorter shooters would find this gun unwieldy, so definitely handle one before you get one if you can.
There is not a huge selection of add-ons for the SG1. But scopes, longer barrels, metal parts and internal upgrades are all available. The meanest SG 1 I've seen about is Lee's from Wolf armouries; Sun Project M203, 3000 rnd C mag, and no end of internal trickery. See the pictures below....
